You have three beach stretches within Largs itself:
Largs Beach is the main beach, which stretches along the town’s promenade and is a mix of sand and shingle. It’s the most accessible beach in Largs, ideal for a leisurely walk, a paddle in the water, or simply soaking up the sea views.
South Beach is located just south of the main town area. It is quieter than the central promenade stretch and offers sandy and grassy areas perfect for picnics or longer walks.
Pencil Beach is near the iconic 70-foot-tall Pencil Monument, which was built to remember the Battle of Largs, where the Scottish defeated 160 ships belonging to the Norwegian King Haco. It is a peaceful spot with fantastic views of the Isle of Cumbrae and the Firth of Clyde. This pebble beach offers a quiet retreat for walkers and nature lovers.
