About
Easington Beach, located just south of Withernsea on the East Yorkshire coast, is a hidden gem for dog lovers. With its pebbly shores, quiet atmosphere, and stunning coastal views, it’s perfect for a peaceful day out with your furry friend. Here’s everything you need to know about this dog-friendly destination.
Dog Access and Rules
At Easington Beach, dogs are welcome all year round, making it a fantastic destination for those who love to take their pets on seaside adventures. Unlike some more crowded beaches, there are no seasonal restrictions, so you and your dog can enjoy the beach whenever the mood strikes.
What's On Offer
Easington Beach is situated in the small village of Easington, just a short drive from the seaside town of Withernsea. This part of the East Yorkshire coast is known for its natural beauty, with vast stretches of coastline, dramatic cliffs, and wide-open spaces.
The beach mixes pebbles and sand, perfect for a relaxing walk with your dog. The pebbly shoreline provides plenty of new textures for your dog to explore, and the long stretch of the coast means you can enjoy a peaceful stroll without the crowds. The quiet beach is ideal for off-lead play.
Walking southwards towards Spurn Point, you will see a few lakes in the dunes behind the beach. Southwards is the best direction to walk, as northwards, you will see gas terminals behind the beach.
Access and Facilities
Easington Beach is easily accessible by car, making it a convenient destination for a day trip with your dog. The beach is about 6 miles south of Withernsea, along the B1445. Parking is difficult, with only a few places along the sea road, making this mainly a beach for the local holiday park.
Public transport options are also limited, so driving is the best way to access Easington Beach.
The cliffs take a beating, erosion is a major problem, and it can be not easy to get down onto the beach.
