MyPAWfectPlace works when dog owners share what they learn on the ground. Guides and listings get you started. Your PAWprints, tips, and saved Notes are what stop the next person from turning up to a “dog-friendly” stretch that isn’t, or a car park that was full by 9 am.
You do not need to be a blogger. Pick one action.
1. Leave a PAWprint (best first step)
A PAWprint is a short, real-visit note on an existing listing. It is for the owner loading the dog five minutes from now.
Do this when: you’ve been recently, or you know the place well.
What to include (even two sentences help):
- Could the dog go on the bit you cared about (sand, path, inside the pub)?
- Lead rules or seasonal limits you actually saw
- Parking, water, bins, busy times
- One honest “I’d go again / I wouldn’t at weekend” line
Skip: generic “lovely walk!” with no detail. Specific beats glowing.
How:
- Log in (web or app).
- Open the listing for the place you visited.
- Add your PAWprint / review and submit.
Good example shape:
“Year-round on the west side path. East sands still signed seasonal when we went in August. Free car park full by 10 Sat; street overflow 5 mins. Tap in the play area. Fine on lead near nests in spring.”
That kind of note saves someone a wasted drive.

2. Add a missing place (or fix a thin one)
The map has 2,000+ places and still has holes: local loops, estate edges, the pub after the canal, the beach access path nobody photographed.
Do this when: you know a dog-friendly walk, pub, cafe, stay, or day out that isn’t listed, or the listing is missing the dog rule that matters.
Minimum viable listing (aim for this, not perfection)

Businesses can claim or add their own venue. Owners can add places as community tips. If you’re unsure about a rule, say what you observed.
How:
- Log in.
- Use Add a place / submit listing (web or app).
- Fill in the minimum fields above and submit.
We’ll tidy and verify where we can. A rough, honest pin beats a blank region on the map.

3. Use Notes (bucket lists, itineraries, journals)
Notes are your private planning space on MyPAWfectPlace. Save listings, drop your own pins, tag them, see them on a map and calendar, build a trip timeline, and share a private link with your friends when you want.

Three starter templates (steal these)
A. Autumn / year-round beach bucket list
- Save 5 listings you actually want to do
- When saving, use tag:
BeachesBeforeNextMay - Open map view, filter by tag
B. One weekend itinerary
- Tag: “SatSun[area]”
- Day order in the trip planner: morning walk → pub or cafe → optional stay
- Share by Tag to your calendar for reminders
- Share by tag the private link from the Trip Planner with whoever’s coming (link expires in 21 days; you stay in control)
C. Muddy journal (where we’ve been)
- After each outing, save the listing or drop a pin
- Tag by region (
Kent,Norfolk) or type (Woods,Pub) - Calendar view becomes your year in walks whilst map view shows your coverage
How:
- Log in.
- On a listing, use the + control to save the listing as a Note, or create a fresh note and pin to the map.
- Add tags so related places group together.
- Add date and time to create a plan (defaults to a journal entry for the current day and time)
CTA: Save three places you already love. That’s a Note. The habit sticks after the second walk.

Account, privacy, apps
- Notes and contributions need a free MyPAWfectPlace account.
- Notes are private unless you share them as an itinerary; then they’re time-limited unless you choose otherwise.
- The Notes dashboard lets you delete Notes, share to a calendar, and set email notifications.
- iOS and Android apps: same account, handy for PAWprints when you’re back at the car.
