About
Chapel Bay beach is within a horseshoe bay backed by a promenade and some grass areas. The beach itself is a large sandy beach with flat rocks and rockpools on either side, although, at high tide, you don’t have access to any sand.
Chapel Bay Beach has seasonal dog restrictions and does not allow dogs between 9 am and 6 pm during the primary season of 1st May – 30th Sept.
Port St Mary is a large village in the southwest of the Isle of Man. At one end of the bay, you have two connected harbours, the inner harbour, with its pier created in 1812, is tidal and dries out from half-tide, whilst the outer harbour, created in 1882, is accessible at all tide levels. A nice walkway runs from the beach to the harbour, hugging the coast.
Access and Facilities
Facilities at Chapel Beach include parking in the village or limited spaces at Gansey Point, and the village offers a selection of places to eat.
