Newburgh beach is dog-friendly, located on either side of the mouth of the river Ythan and is backed by a large sand dune system.
The area includes the Forvie Nature Reserve and is a good location for coastal walks and bird watching, the reserve is a large dune system, so the area is also called Sands of Forvie. Dogs need to be kept under close control on the reserve and in nesting seasons and around wildlife be kept on leads.
Car parking is near the beach south of the river mouth, and the north has some nature reserve parking. For facilities, you will have to travel back to Newburgh village, where there are some shops, including a post office.
