Nestled in the charming village of Butlers Cross, The Russell Arms is a welcoming dog-friendly pub in what was originally an 18th-century coachhouse, now owned by residents of Butlers Cross.
Offering a traditional pub menu, à la carte daily specials, seasonal dishes, and pizza from the traditional stone-based oven. The menu always has a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
For drinks, you’ll find local ales, lagers, ciders, a selection of wines, and gins.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome in the bar but not in the restaurant during dining hours. If you plan to bring dogs, please mention it in your booking notes so they can ensure you have an appropriate table.
Things To See & Do
You’re in a prime spot for some lovely dog walks:
Coombe Hill Woodland Walk: Just a short stroll from the pub, this 3.5-mile trail offers panoramic views and a peaceful woodland setting. Dogs are welcome on leads, especially important as cattle graze in the area.
Wendover Woods is a bit further afield, this expansive woodland area provides a variety of trails suitable for all fitness levels. It’s an excellent place for your dog to explore, with plenty of sights and smells to keep them engaged.
Access and Facilities
The pub is easily accessible via the A413, and there’s on-site parking available for visitors. If you’re travelling by public transport, the nearest train station is Little Kimble, approximately a 30-minute walk from the pub. Additionally, several bus routes have stops near The Russell Arms, making it convenient for visitors relying on buses.
