About
Willen Lake in Milton Keynes is a fantastic destination for dog owners looking for scenic walks and open spaces within a lakeside environment.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome across most of the park, including walking trails and grassy areas. While your dog can explore freely in many places, some restrictions include locations where dogs must be kept on leads.
Things To See & Do
Willen Lake is divided into two main areas: North and South Lakes. North Lake offers a tranquil atmosphere, natural beauty, birdwatching opportunities, and quiet paths surrounded by trees. South Lake, on the other hand, is livelier and features water sports and playgrounds.
There are a few standout features, such as the Peace Pagoda, Labyrinth, and Medicine Wheel. Since there are two lakes, a nice figure-of-eight walk takes you around both. At around four miles in length, you will discover the two different North and South lake settings.
After your walk, grab a coffee or a bite at the cafe near South Lake.
Access and Facilities
Travelling by car, use postcode MK15 0DS for South Lake or MK15 9AB for North Lake. There’s plenty of parking available. Local buses connect to Willen Lake from Milton Keynes town centre, and Milton Keynes Central train station is a short taxi ride away.
Willen Lake is part of Milton Keynes’ Redway network, a series of cycling and walking paths that make it easily accessible.
The lakes have facilities around the South Lake where you can find car parks, toilets and a cafe where well-behaved dogs are allowed in the downstairs area.
