Dog Access and Rules
While Lyme Regis welcomes dogs with open arms, it’s important to note that Lyme Regis Front Beach has seasonal dog restrictions. From 1st May to 30th September, dogs are not allowed on the main stretch of the beach. However, during the off-peak months (October to April), your dog must be kept on a lead no longer than two metres.
If you’re visiting during peak season, don’t worry; there are a few beaches, like Monmouth Beach, just a short walk away, which remain dog-friendly year-round.

Head west towards Charmouth for more fossil-rich beaches or east to the golden sands of Monmouth Beach. If your dog needs a break from the beach, Lyme Regis is home to dog-friendly pubs, cafes, and even some shops, ensuring you can refuel together after a day of adventure.

Lyme Regis Front Beach is easily accessible from the town centre. Parking is available in various car parks, including the Charmouth Road and Holmbush car parks, a short walk from the beach.
