About
Visiting Eastbourne Beach with your dog is a great way to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery and spend quality time outdoors. Here’s a concise guide to help you make the most of your visit:
Dog Access and Rules
Although Eastbourne has restrictions, don’t let this put you off, as you have all-year-round access available.
Between May 1st and September 30th, dogs are not allowed on the main beach area between the Pier heading west to the Wish Tower.
However, this means you have the stretch from the Wish Tower to Holywell, which allows dogs all year round, and the east of the pier, which allows dogs but requires them to be on a lead between 1 May and 30 September.
Things To See & Do
Eastbourne Beach stretches along the scenic South Coast of England, offering stunning views of the English Channel. The beach is divided into several sections, some of which are dog-friendly throughout the year.
The pebble beach has many wooden groynes, making it challenging to take a stroll. This is where the long scenic promenade comes in. It is perfect for a walk with your dog, offering beautiful coastal views and easy access to cafes and shops.
Nearby parks have open spaces and walking paths perfect for a relaxing stroll with your dog.
One disappointment is that the pier does not allow dogs.
Access and Facilities
Many dog-friendly cafes and pubs are located near the beach, where you can enjoy a meal or a drink with your dog.
Eastbourne offers a range of dog-friendly accommodations, from hotels to B&Bs. The Burlington Hotel, for example, is a pet-friendly option close to the beach.
