About
Hastings Pier allows dogs on leads on the deck, but dogs are excluded from other buildings. A great way to explore the views back into the town and along the coast.
Hastings Pier was originally designed by renowned Victorian engineer Eugenius Birch and opened on the August Bank Holiday Monday in 1872. After falling into disrepair and suffering a fire, it was rebuilt, and its current form is a little controversial. If you come here looking for a traditional Victorian seaside pier, you will be surprised, as this is really a large open pier with views back to the seafront.
Dog Access and Rules
For dog owners, this pier is ideal, as its unusual open-plan layout makes it great for dog walks and views back over the East Sussex coastline. You will need to keep a lead on, but there are no buildings to be banned from.
