Dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds of the Cathedral and the courtyard area of the cafe.
You may well see dogs inside the cathedral as it does allow dogs where owners have an annual pass, although not allowed to evening events and services.
Things To See & Do
While dogs aren’t allowed inside the cathedral itself, they are welcome to explore the picturesque grounds and gardens. Take a leisurely stroll through the tranquil paths and enjoy views of the magnificent architecture.
The green spaces around the cathedral, known as the Outer Close, provide ample space for your dog to stretch their legs while you soak in the historical surroundings or sit and watch the world go by.
Consider combining your visit with a walk along the River Itchen or around the historic city centre.
