About
Yaverland Beach is located near Sandown on the Isle of Wight, sandwiched between Sandown Beach and the cliffs at Culver Downs. The beach is a wide sandy beach gently shelving suitable for all the family.
The beach is dog-friendly, from the sailing club to Culver Down head. Unfortunately, to the west and towards Sandown, dogs are prohibited from 1 May to 30 September.
Due to the locality of Culver Cliffs, the beach is known for fossil hunting. A great opportunity for dogs to run around whilst looking for fossils in and around the rocks below Culver Cliffs.
You do need to be careful with dogs off the lead near the car park and sailing club as the beach is very popular for watersports and you can have a lot of kit and lines lying around.
Facilities include a car park, toilets and a small shop.
