About
Allhallows Beach sits quietly on the north Kent coast, where the River Thames meets the sea. You will quickly forget how close you are to London. It’s a quieter, more local-feeling spot than Kent’s headline resort beaches, and if you’re staying at the Haven Kent Coast holiday park, it’s effectively your “front garden” for walks. Rather than classic sandcastle territory, this is more about shoreline pottering, watching the water and giving your dog some fresh-air sniffs along the edge of the Thames.
Dog-Friendly Policies
Dogs are allowed all year round, a rare win so close to London. Unlike other parts of the Kent coast, there’s no seasonal ban. Just keep your dog under control and pick up after them.
Things To See & Do
The beach runs in front of the holiday park and along the estuary, with access via paths and steps from the seafront and park. The foreshore is a mix of sand, shingle and muddy patches that change with the tide.
From the park or Avery seafront, you can drop down to the beach for an out‑and‑back stroll, letting your dog explore the foreshore at low tide and retreating to the track or sea wall when the tide pushes in. You’ll pass old WWII defences and bits of concrete sticking out.
If you’re staying multiple days, treat Allhallows Beach as your easy “out the door” walk. You can also drive further along the North Kent coast for bigger expanses of sand and traditional dog-friendly beach days.
If you are looking for a longer walk, Allhallows Marshes covers 98 hectares of grazing marshes and creeks. This gives plenty of options offering great birdwatching and river views.
Access and Facilities
By car, access is easy, but parking can be limited. Most spaces are within Allhallows Holiday Park (a fee is charged for use; guests have priority). Additional limited parking is available on Avery Way (postcode ME3 9TD) near the seafront, but please do not block any driveways or homes.
Buses run from Rochester and stop in the village, about a 15-minute stroll to the beach. There’s no train station close, so public transport isn’t the easiest unless you’re already in the area.
