About
Walpole Bay Beach is a long sandy beach with a promenade and plenty of rock and tidal pools to explore. It is worth checking the tide times before a visit as at high tide, the sand all but disappears. The beach is most famous for its Grade II listed tidal pool, which was opened in June 1937.
The beach is located between Margate and Broadstairs on the North Kent coastline and is a popular destination for those looking to visit the beach from London.
Dogs must be kept on a lead between 10am and 6pm from 1 May to 30 September.
The beach facilities include a lift, toilets, seasonal beach lifeguards, and chalets for hire. Close to the beach are a number of cafes and restaurants where you can find something to eat or drink. There are parking facilities at the beach as well as disabled access.
