About
Mablethorpe Beach is a long, flat stretch of sand on the Lincolnshire coast. It lies calmly between Skegness and Cleethorpes, away from the normal hustle. It isn’t showy, there are arcades and chip shops, but mostly you come for space to walk and throw a ball.
Dog-Friendly Policies
Mablethorpe Beach is dog-friendly, but the central, busiest section by the main promenade has a seasonal dog ban from 1 May to 30 September. Clear signs mark this small area, so it’s easy to spot. For year-round access, simply walk a little north or south to quieter areas where dogs are welcome.
Things To See & Do
The beach feels calm, with no cliffs, just open sand and sea. When the tide goes out, it really does. It’s perfect if your dog likes to chase a ball or dart in the surf.
As you walk up towards Theddlethorpe, the path leads into wilder dunes and salt marsh. For ages, we didn’t see a soul.
If you want a break from the sand, Queen’s Park sits just back from the seafront. Here, you’ll find a boating lake, a miniature railway, a paddling pool (not for dogs), and plenty of grass.
Access and Facilities
Getting to Mablethorpe is easy. There are many public parking spaces if you’re coming by car. Buses from Skegness and Cleethorpes run regularly, stopping near the town centre. The train no longer stops in Mablethorpe, but you can travel to nearby towns and catch a bus.
Facilities include disabled toilets, restaurants, a disabled-access ramp, a beach hut, and deck chair hire. In addition, many good-value fish and chip outlets are nearby for when you’ve worked up an appetite walking or paddling.
