About
Robin Hood’s Bay is a small fishing hamlet situated on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast just south of Whitby and marks one end of the coast-to-coast walk.
The beach can get busy during the summer, but it is large enough at low tide to cope with the crowds, although at high tide it all but disappears. The beach has many rocks and rock pools to explore, as well as sand. As well as the rock pools at low tide, the cliffs and rocks around the beach are very popular with fossil hunters, although you do need to be careful as the cliffs can be unstable.
Dog Access and Rules
Robin Hood’s Bay Beach and the surrounding area are dog-friendly, with no restrictions at any time of year.
Access and Facilities
There is no parking area by the seafront. The car park is at the top of the village, then a steep hill down through the narrow streets. You have a few pubs, cafes and gift shops.
