About
Robin Hood’s Bay Beach and the surrounding area are dog-friendly and there are no restrictions at any time of the year. This small fishing hamlet is situated on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast just south of Whitby and marks one end of the coast to coast walk.
The beach can get busy during the summer but is large enough at low tide to cope with the crowds although at high tide it all but disappears. The beach has a lot of rocks and rock pools to explore as well as sand. As well as the rock pools at low tide, the cliffs and rocks around the beach are very popular with fossil hunters although you do need to be careful as the cliffs can be unstable.
There is no parking area by the seafront, the car park is at the top of the village, there is a steep hill down through the narrow streets with its choice of pubs, tea and gift shops.

Visited during half term. Talk about an excited dog, running from rock pool to rock pool, sniffing.
