About
Arboretum Park is conveniently located near Nottingham city centre, making it an easy escape from the busy streets. It is Nottingham’s oldest public park, opened in 1852. The park was designed as a Victorian pleasure ground, featuring ornamental gardens, mature trees, and a bandstand.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs should remain on a lead throughout the park.
Things To See & Do
This is more than just a park to walk your dog. The 17-acre park has a historical collection of trees, many planted at the original opening.
We recommend a more organised walk using the Arboretum Tree Trail (Trail PDF) as the basis, which takes you around the park and provides details about the trees.
Access and Facilities
Arboretum Park is a short walk from Nottingham city centre, and several bus routes pass close to the park. The main entrance is on Waverley Street, but additional access points are on Arboretum Street, North Sherwood Street, and Addison Street.
Car parking is limited near the park, so walking from the centre is recommended.
