The Jolly Sailor is a dog-friendly 16th-century inn located a short walk from the Quay in Orford. This makes it an idea stop for a drink or something to eat whilst exploring the area.
The menu offers traditional pub classics made with locally sourced ingredients, including seafood. Beer includes local options from Southwold’s Adnams Brewery.
The pub includes five en-suite rooms, although only The Garden Room is available for dogs.
Dog Access and Rules
The Jolly Sailor is a dog-friendly pub that includes a large beer garden.
If you want to stay overnight, The Garden Room has its own enclosed decked area and is available for guests with a small or medium dog.
Things To See & Do
Located near Woodbridge and a stroll from the quay, the inn looks out over the marshes. Orford Castle and the village centre are also only a short stroll away, while the Suffolk coast and surrounding countryside are perfect for long walks, birdwatching, or even a refreshing dip in the sea.
Just be aware that the Orford Ness Nature Reserve does not allow dogs.
Access and Facilities
The Jolly Sailor is easy to find, just a short walk from Orford’s quay and castle. The pub’s car park is for bed and breakfast guests only but you do have the Orford Quay Car park over the road.
