Dhoon Glen is a wooded valley that follows a stream with a waterfall halfway down the valley, known as the “Big Girl”, and is one of the highest on the Island, falling over 40 metres (130ft) in 2 drops.
A caution is that Dhoon Glen is one of the steepest glens on the Island, with over 190 steps back up to the road, but it still makes for a great dog-walking spot, even for the more energetic.
The beach at Dhoon Glen is an isolated rocky cove with pebbles, and we recommend including it with a visit to the glen, although not spectacular enough to visit for the beach alone.
Dog Access and Rules
Dhoon Glen welcomes dogs but you will need to keep your dog under control as it can get busy.
Access and Facilities
At the head of the glen, a cafe offers refreshments, and access is by electric tram, bus or car.
