About
Dhoon Glen is a wooded valley that follows a stream with a waterfall halfway down the valley, known as the “Big Girl”, and is one of the highest on the Island, falling over 40 metres (130ft) in 2 drops.
A caution is that Dhoon Glen is one of the steepest glens on the Island, with over 190 steps back up to the road, but it still makes this a great dog walking spot, even if for the more energetic.
The beach at Dhoon Glen is an isolated rocky cove with pebbles, and we recommend including it with a visit to the glen, although not spectacular enough to visit for the beach alone.
At the head of the glen, a cafe offers refreshments, and access is by electric tram, bus or car.
