About
Fenella Beach is one of Peel’s two beaches, separated by the breakwater and harbour, a small sheltered sandy beach within rocky cliffs and overlooked by Peel Castle. Fenella Beach is dog-friendly throughout the year.
Fenella Beach takes its name from the character in Sir Walter Scott’s 1823 novel ‘Peveril of the Peak’ set around Peel Castle. At the beach car park entrance, you can see a 7 ft wooden sculpture of Fenella looking out onto the beach.
The beach has a car park and a small cafe near the lifeboat station and castle entrance. The main facilities are in Peel, a short walk away over the harbour swing bridge.
