Sandend Bay is a nice sandy bay which allows dogs all year. Located beside the small fishing village of Sandend, the beach is sandy with some pebbles and is popular with families and surfers.
During the second world war, the beach was identified as suitable for a landing ground for the Germans and was fortified with tank traps and a gun emplacement at the east end which can still be seen today.
Facilities at the beach include parking, toilets, caravan and camping park, harbour and slipway.
