About
Claydon Estate is a great option if you want a dog-friendly visit that is more than simply a walk.
The main reason to come is for a wander around the historic courtyard, browse the shops, settle in for a drink or bite to eat at the Phoenix Kitchen.
If you want to extend your visit, you can head out for a leg-stretch on the public rights-of-way through the grounds.
If you want a Buckinghamshire dog day out with a mix of browsing, walking and eating in one place, Claydon Estate is a solid choice. It works particularly well for a slower-paced day where you want variety: a little shopping, some fresh air, and somewhere comfortable to refuel.
Dog Access and Rules
Claydon is dog-friendly, but it is important to follow the on-site rules.
Dogs are welcome in the courtyard and on public rights-of-way and should be kept on a lead and under close control throughout your visit. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in courtyard shops and the Phoenix Kitchen.
Dogs are not allowed inside Claydon House itself (except assistance dogs), so if you plan to tour the house, you will need to plan around that.
Access and Facilities
Claydon is easy to reach by car, with a free grass car park for visitors. Whilst the courtyard has toilets, shops, and a cafe.
Dog facilities are limited; waste bins are available in the grass car park. Bring water, poo bags, and a towel for muddy paws.
