About
Fen Drayton Lakes is an RSPB reserve at one end of a string of wetlands and fens that runs 25 miles (40km) along the Great Ouse floodplain. Fen Drayton Lakes began life as a flooded sand and gravel quarry beside riverside meadows and is roughly a 50/50 split of water/wetland vs. grassland with a little bit of woodland. Offers visitors a variety of wildlife, including otters, dragonflies, ducks, swans and geese.
Dogs are welcome on the public footpaths, bridleways and most of the permissive routes on the reserve. Please keep your dog on a lead and under close, and be aware that dogs are not allowed at the Moore Lake hide and the seasonal viewpoint at Ferry Mere.
Facilities include a small car park, picnic area and an accessible portaloo in the car park.
