About
Aberystwyth has two beaches, the North Beach and the South Beach. The main seafront is the North Beach with a pier backed by Georgian and Victorian buildings, which makes the South Beach a little quieter. At Aberystwyth, you have gentle sloping sand and shingle beach within a sheltered bay, and the North beach has some rocky areas to explore.
Between the 1st of May and the 30th of September, Aberystwyth has seasonal dog restrictions:
- Aberystwyth North Beach dogs are restricted between the north side of the Landing Stage, also known as the jetty, and the northern end of the beach at Craig Glais, more commonly known as Constitution Hill. The area to the south of the Landing stage and the Pier is available to dogs throughout the year.
- Aberystwyth South Beach bogs are restricted between the Castle Headland (northern limit) and the first groyne at the end of South Marine Terrace (southern limit).
