About
Aberdyfi can be described as having two beaches and is one of the most picturesque villages on the coast of Gwynedd and is situated within the Snowdonia National Park. The main beach is a south-west facing beach at the mouth of the River Dyfi. The popular family beach has a wide expanse of sand, but due to its location at the edge of a tidal estuary and its steep shelf into the water, strong currents can exist.
Dogs are not allowed in the beach area in front of the car park between 1st April and 30th September.
As you leave the village northwards you have the 2km west-facing beach running from the River Dyfi estuary to Tywyn in the North. This stretch is dog-friendly all year.
Public toilets can be found at the tourist information centre, with facilities such as shops, cafes, and restaurants along Terrace Road, adjacent to the beach.
