Things To See & Do
Hereโs a guide to the main beaches in New Quay where you and your dog can enjoy the sun, sea, and sand:
- Harbour Beach: New Quay Harbour Beach is located right in the heart of the town and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Itโs a small sandy beach with clear waters sheltered by the harbour walls.
- Dolau Beach: Dolau Beach is a smaller, quieter beach located west of the harbour pier. It offers a more secluded environment than the main harbour beach, framed by cliffs and rocky outcrops.
- Traeth Gwyn (Llanina) Beach: Traeth Gwyn Beach is a long, sandy beach that extends eastward from the main harbour area. Itโs known for its expansive sands, beautiful views, and plenty of space for your dog to explore.
In addition to the beaches, you have the Ceredigion Coast Path, offering stunning walks with breathtaking views of the coastline, perfect for exploring with your dog. The path stretches along the coast, providing various routes and scenic spots.
Access and Facilities
All beaches are within reach of New Quay centre, although when on Traeth Gwyn, you have endless space to move away from the town itself.
New Quay has plenty of car parking and a wide range of restaurants, pubs and takeaways to suit all tastes. With some good fish and chip shops beside the harbour pier.
