Visiting Long Rock Beach near Penzance with your dog can be a wonderful outdoor activity, especially given its welcoming stance towards dogs during much of the year. Long Rock Beach offers extensive views across Mount’s Bay to St Michael’s Mount and provides a large, flat sandy area that’s perfect for dogs to run and play.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are allowed all year but only on the Penzance side of the car park. To the left of the car park towards Marazion, there is a seasonal ban from July 1st to August 31st, between 10 am and 6 pm.
Things To See & Do
Long Rock Beach is well-known for its large sandy stretches that are ideal for beach games, walks, and relaxation. The beach is part of a stretch which extends from Marazion to Penzance and includes a section specifically designated for dog walking.
From the beach, you can enjoy magnificent views of St Michael’s Mount, an iconic island with a medieval church and castle. This makes for a dramatic backdrop and photo opportunity during your visit.
Access and Facilities
Long Rock Beach is easily accessible, with parking available near the beach. There are no facilities other than parking, but you may be lucky and visit when a portable coffee outlet or ice cream van is in the car park.
