About
The National Trust manages the Penrose Estate with 17 miles of paths and trails, Loe Pool the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall, a walled garden and Loe Bar beach.
Dogs are welcome across the whole estate at Penrose, including the seating area at The Stables kiosk. Penrose is a mixture of rich farmland and woodland around Loe Pool, through which there are many paths to explore. Penrose is met by the coast at Loe Bar, a broad shingle bar heaped up by heavy Atlantic seas, a site of many historical shipwrecks, where King Arthur is said to have been mortally wounded and died.
The Stables cafe is a grab-and-go offer with hot and cold drinks, sweet treats and snacks. It is open every day.
Dogs are welcome on the beach at Loe Bar all year round.
Although you have parking at the Penrose Estate, it is actually a beautiful walk with dogs from Porthleven along the coast. Options to then other spend time on the dog-friendly beach or have a nice coffee and cake at the Stables before heading back.
