About
St. Mawes is a picturesque fishing village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. St. Mawes is ideal for a seaside getaway with your furry companion although the beaches have seasonal restrictions. It has stunning coastal scenery, a charming village atmosphere, and a welcoming environment. Hereโs a comprehensive guide to exploring the dog-friendly beaches of St. Mawes.
Things To See & Do
St. Mawes is positioned on the east side of the Carrick Roads, and you have three beach areas:
- Summers Beach is a sheltered, shingle beach with a dog ban between 10 am. and 6 pm between July 1st and August 31st.
- Harbour Beach is situated in the centre of the village, although it is not accessible at high tide, dogs are welcome all year round.
- Tavern Beach is a small sand/rocky beach situated at the village’s castle end with a seasonal dog ban.
Summers Beach is the largest and has seasonal restrictions, and the others are not very big and suffer from the tides, making these more of a stop-off while spending the day in St Mawes.
