Dog Access and Rules
Another Place, The Lake, is dog-friendly. It welcomes dogs in designated rooms, communal spaces, and extensive grounds. Up to two dogs are allowed per room for an additional fee. While dogs are welcome throughout much of the hotel, a few restrictions exist. Dogs aren’t permitted in the main restaurants, but you do have an option of a dog-friendly dining area.
Dogs must be kept on lead inside but are welcome off lead in the hotel grounds if they are well-behaved and do not interfere with other guests.
Things To See & Do
There’s no shortage of dog-friendly activities here. You can stroll along the lake or take a more challenging hike up nearby fells, such as Hallin Fell or Gowbarrow. The Ullswater Way, a 20-mile circular route around the lake, offers excellent views and plenty of shorter sections for a more relaxed walk. After your walks, settle down in the hotel’s dog-friendly bar for a pint and a meal.
For a little variety, take a short drive to the nearby village of Pooley Bridge or visit the impressive Aira Force waterfall for another scenic walk.
Access and Facilities
Another Place is about 15 minutes from the M6, making it easily accessible by car. The nearest train station is Penrith, just a 20-minute taxi ride away. There’s plenty of on-site parking, and the hotel is well-equipped with essential facilities. Dog waste bins are available around the grounds, and staff are always happy to point you toward the best local walks or recommend dog-friendly pubs nearby.
