About
Lakeland Leisure Park is in Flookburgh, Cumbria, not far from Grange-over-Sands. It is close enough to the Lake District without being in the busiest areas. Think of the countryside meeting the coast, with abundant fresh air and open space.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome at Lakeland, but you must keep them on a lead around the park itself.
What's On Offer
You get all the usual stuff you’d expect from a holiday park. There’s a swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), mini golf, a watersports centre, a cafe, a takeaway, and a shop that sells stuff you forgot to pack.
Things To See & Do
Lakeland’s near Morecambe Bay, so you get a different beach. They are not the classic sandy ones; they are more muddy and marshy, but they are still lovely for a promenade wander. Cartmel’s just up the road, a cracking little village famous for sticky toffee pudding, which you can get in the village shop.
You can take your dog to Humphrey Head, a quiet, hidden gem. You can explore some rockpools and small beach areas at low tide, but be careful of the mud.
You’re close to the Lakes if you fancy a proper leg stretch. There are loads of different trails, some steep, some gentle, and flat walks by the water.
Access and Facilities
Getting to Lakeland is not hard. It’s a 20-minute drive from the M6, junction 36. There’s parking on-site and next to your caravan, usually unless you’re in a more central area where it’s a short walk.
You can get the train to Cark & Cartmel, a short taxi ride away.
