The Wild Boar is a rural hotel just a short drive from Windermere. The hotel sits within a 72-acre estate of woodland and scenic walking paths.
Dog Access and Rules
The Wild Boar has some dog-friendly rooms. Dogs incur an additional overnight fee (maximum two dogs per room).
Dogs are not allowed in the main Grill & Smokehouse restaurant. However, you can eat with your dog in our bar/lounge area.
Well-behaved dogs can accompany you on walks throughout the estate and its surrounding trails.
Things To See & Do
The Wild Boar is a dream for dog walkers, with woodland trails and open spaces to stretch their legs. If you’re feeling energetic, take on one of the longer circular walks that lead into the nearby fells for breathtaking views of the Lake District landscape.
The nearby Windermere Lake offers waterside strolls.
Access and Facilities
The Wild Boar is just off the A591 near Windermere, making it easily accessible by car. There’s ample on-site parking available for guests and visitors. If you’re arriving by public transport, the nearest train station is Windermere, and from there, it’s a short taxi ride to the estate.
