South Sands beach is a sandy beach with fine sands and is only dog-friendly from October until May. During the other months, restrictions apply, although you can go to neighbouring North Sands, which welcomes dogs all year round.

Limited parking, a shop, a cafe, a pub, and a ferry can take you across the estuary to one of the beaches on the other side of the bay. The South Sands Hotel on the beach is a dog-friendly provider.
