Things To See & Do
Seatown Beach is in the small, picturesque hamlet of Seatown, just a few miles from the market town of Bridport and the village of Chideock in West Dorset. The beach sits at the base of Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast of England, and offers spectacular views of the surrounding coastline.
Historically, Seatown was once a small fishing village, smuggling an everyday activity along the remote shoreline. Today, itโs a quiet spot that has remained largely untouched, offering a more tranquil alternative to some of the busier beaches on the Jurassic Coast.
Thereโs no shortage of activities for you and your dog to enjoy at Seatown Beach.
Beach Walks: Seatownโs wide, pebbly beach is perfect for a stroll. Your dog can explore the shore while you take in the fresh sea air and beautiful coast views. Itโs a relatively quiet beach, ideal for dogs who like more space to roam.
Coastal Walks: For the more adventurous, take on the challenge of hiking up to Golden Cap. This steep walk rewards you with incredible panoramic coastline views, and your dog will love the chance to stretch their legs and explore the hillside. Just be sure to bring water for both of you, especially on warmer days!
Swimming and Playing: If your dog loves the water, Seatown Beach offers plenty of opportunities for a paddle in the shallow waves. The beachโs clear, unspoilt waters make it a safe spot for your dog to cool off during your visit.
Fossil Hunting: Like much of the Jurassic Coast, Seatown Beach is rich in geological history. While your dog sniffs around the pebbles, you might even come across a fossil or two.
