About
Point Clear and St Osyth Beach sit quietly on the Essex coast, just around the bend from Clacton. Not the sort of place that’s screaming for attention, it’s quieter than the bigger resorts and typically only occupied by those visiting the local holiday parks.
Dog Access and Rules
Point Clear and St Osyth Beach allow dogs all year round.
Things To See & Do
Point Clear, Point Bay and St Osyth Beach all occupy this stretch of coast on the opposite side of the Creek to Brightlingsea. When the tide is out, you have a fair amount of beach to explore, which is a mix of sand and pebbles.
You also have a few walking options to St Osyth village or around the coast to Clacton. There is also a dog-friendly ferry that runs over to Brightlingsea or Mersea Island.
Access and Facilities
Driving’s your best bet. From the A133, you cut off down some pretty straight country roads. You can park in a few lay-bys if you get there early, or pay to park in one of the beach car parks.
There aren’t any fancy facilities here; it’s a massive holiday park with some private housing.
