About
The Cotswold Water Park is a fantastic dog-friendly destination. It offers a unique mix of lakes, woodlands, and walking trails, perfect for exploring with your four-legged friend. Spread across 42 square miles, this park has over 180 lakes and is a haven for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and dogs.
Dog Access and Rules
The whole area of the Cotswold Water Park has plenty of footpaths and bridlepaths where you can walk your dog. Dogs should be kept out of the water and on a lead when near lake edges to minimise disturbance to wildlife. You can collect walking maps from the visitor centre.
Dogs are not allowed near the beach area and playgrounds in Cotswold Country Park and Beach.
Things To See & Do
Dogs are allowed on all public footpaths and bridleways, and various well-marked routes offer anything from a 2km stroll to an 18km hike. You can’t do this justice with a single-day visit, and it should be part of a plan to explore the whole area, including the villages.
The Water Park is a dog walker’s paradise, with many routes allowing dogs to roam and explore. The list below outlines the top six walks—click the image for details.

The park is not just about lakes; you have river and towpath walks along a stretch of the River Thames that starts its 294 km (184 miles) journey in the Cotswolds and the Thames and Severn Canal.
