About
Falinge Park is a historic public park located just outside Rochdale town centre. Dating back to the 19th century, it was donated to the Corporation in 1902 and opened as a park in 1906.
Dog Access and Rules
Falinge Park welcomes dogs, although keeping them under control is essential, especially near children’s play areas and when the park is busy. Be sure to bring waste bags to clean up after your dog and use the dog waste bins around the park.
Things To See & Do
Over time, Falinge Park has evolved into a community space with well-maintained gardens, mature trees, and plenty of walking paths. It is known for its community-driven events and the remains of Falinge Hall, which reminds us of the area’s rich history.
The park is about 11 hectares, and the remains of Falinge Hall sit in the middle, with open grass areas to the south and more formal gardens designed by Thomas Mawson to the north.
The park offers a variety of paved and grassed paths, perfect for strolls or more energetic walks. The peaceful surroundings make it an enjoyable space to explore. While the park is not explicitly designated as an off-lead area, the wide-open spaces allow for some off-lead play, provided your dog is well-behaved, and you follow park guidelines.
Access and Facilities
Falinge Park is conveniently located just a short walk from Rochdale town centre. The park has several entry points, making it easily accessible for visitors. If you’re driving, limited parking is available on nearby streets. For public transport, the park is well-served by local buses from the town centre.
