About
Stanwell House is a boutique, dog-friendly hotel on Lymington’s Georgian high street, perfectly placed for the New Forest, quayside walks, and coastal exploring with your dog.
You don’t need to stay, you can visit The Orangery, which is the perfect place to indulge in afternoon tea or a late lunch and the Salt Bar for drinks, both of which are dog-friendly.
Dog Access and Rules
If you would like to book a dog-friendly stay, you need to let the hotel know at the time of booking, as not all rooms are dog-friendly. Bookings include a ‘doggie station’ with a dog bed, towel, bowl, treat and bags.
Dogs are welcome in the Orangery, Salt Bar, and the enclosed garden, making it easy to relax, dine and unwind together.
Things To See & Do
Lymington harbour & sea wall: From the hotel, it is a short walk down the high street to the quay and sea wall, where you can follow easy, mostly level paths with Solent views and plenty of sniffing opportunities.
New Forest walks: A short drive puts you into classic New Forest heath and woodland, with dog‑friendly trails all around Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and beyond.
Hurst Castle & Milford on Sea: Head along the coast for sea views, shingle beaches and the dog‑friendly approach to Hurst Castle via the spit or local ferries.
Lymington & surroundings: On non‑exploring days, you have independent shops, markets, and cafes/pubs that are used to dogs, so you can still build an easy, varied day without driving far.
