About
Llyn Cefni Reservoir is the second-largest manmade lake on Anglesey, after Llyn Alaw to the north. It is centrally located on the island, roughly one mile north of Llangefni.
The relatively flat circular trail is just over 6km and is a favourite for dog walkers, offering a mix of woodland paths and open lake landscapes.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome at Llyn Cefni Reservoir year-round, making it a great location no matter the season. However, to protect the local wildlife and ensure the safety of all visitors, dogs must be controlled at all times.
Access and Facilities
Llyn Cefni Reservoir is located just outside the market town of Llangefni on Anglesey. It’s easily accessible by car, with parking available at the southwestern and northeastern points. The reservoir is also close to the A55, making it a convenient stop for anyone exploring Anglesey.
If you use public transport, Llangefni is served by local bus routes. The town centre is just a short walk from the reservoir.
