About
Sandwich Bay beach is a long stretch of beach consisting of pebbles at the top and then very large sand flats backed by dunes. As you move from south to north, you get more sand and fewer pebbles.
This stretch of coast is a nature reserve with many dog restrictions, and is advised to check local signage. Dogs are excluded from the Sandwich Bay Mudflats and Salt Marshes and must be kept on a lead on the Princes Bay Golf Course Dunes Path.
Access via a toll road, charged at a day rate, making this a little expensive for a short visit.
