About
Theddlethorpe Beach, on the Lincolnshire coast not far from Mablethorpe, couldn’t feel more different. No slot machines. No buckets. No spades. Only dunes, open sky, and plenty of room for dogs to run.
The sandy beach and dunes go on for miles. Literally. It’s a nature reserve, part of the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe stretch, so be aware that dogs are not allowed within the nature reserve itself.
Dog-Friendly Policies
Dogs are allowed at Theddlethorpe Beach year-round. There are restrictions within the nature reserve. While the beach is dog-friendly, dogs (except assistance dogs) are not permitted in the reserve. This protects the delicate coastal ecosystem, especially in the breeding season, when birds and wildlife nest in the dunes.
Access and Facilities
Access is a little difficult. The nearby car parks are for the nature reserve. You can park, but you can’t walk through the reserve with a dog to get to the beach.
We recommend parking at Golden Sands, the adjoining beach closer to Mablethorpe. There is car parking, a cafe, and toilets. From here, you are on the beach and can head north towards Theddlethorpe Beach.
