About
Nestled in The Close, a peaceful 44-acre area by the River Wensum, Norwich Cathedral is a gem of Norman architecture in the city’s heart. Completed in 1145, it boasts the second-tallest spire in England and a breathtaking collection of medieval art and carvings. Over its long history, the Cathedral has served as a centre for worship, learning, and community events, making it one of the most significant historic sites in East Anglia.
The Close, a serene 44-acre space beside the River Wensum, is perfect for a stroll or a picnic on the lawns. It is surrounded by historic Georgian properties.
Dog Access and Rules
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcomed in Norwich Cathedral’s Cloisters and Labyrinth, where you can soak up centuries of history together.
It is good that the Cathedral allows dogs, but you need to ensure they are well-behaved. This is a religious building, and we believe people don’t want to and should not need to hear barking dogs.
Access and Facilities
