Sandsend Beach is a sand and shingle beach situated on Yorkshire’s heritage coastline. The beach is at the North end of a stretch of beach that runs into Whitby sands.

Most of Sandsend Beach is a dog-friendly beach all year round. However, from 1st May to 30th September, dogs are not permitted in certain areas.

As this is a long stretch of beach, you have a great dog walk from Sandsend village to Whitby Abbey and back again, although be careful as part of Whitby Beach has all-year dog restrictions. For fossil collectors, you can search amongst the Sandsend cliffs.

You have car parking on the road behind the beach, toilets and the cafe allows dogs in the outdoor seating area.
