About
Freshwater East Beach is a lovely crescent-shaped sandy beach with dunes and woodland at the rear, which form a local nature reserve. Red Sandstone cliffs are on either side of the bay. Hereโs everything you need to know to plan your visit with your dog.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome at Freshwater East Beach all year round, so you can visit anytime.
You must keep dogs on leads when within the local nature reserve.
Things To See & Do
Freshwater East Beach is a rural beach on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path that measures nearly 1km across. At lower tide levels, your dog will have plenty of room to explore, run, and enjoy the water. You also have a small stream that enters the sea at the car park end of the beach.
Along with the beach is the local nature reserve, ‘The Burrows.’ Footpaths crisscross dunes, grassland, and woodland, and a boardwalk passes through a reed marsh.
Access and Facilities
At the bottom of Trewent Hill, the beach’s southern end, has a large car park and toilets. A caravan park with a dog-friendly pub/restaurant is just behind the beach and car park.
