It’s an excellent spot for surfing, dog walking, and simply soaking up the natural beauty. The beach is famous for its appearance in several films, including “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” and “Robin Hood.”
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome on Freshwater West Beach throughout the year, ensuring you can enjoy a visit regardless of season.
The beach and surrounding dunes are home to various wildlife. Keep your dog under control to avoid disturbing any animals or birds.
Things To See & Do
Freshwater West’s vast sands are perfect for long walks, energetic games of fetch, and beachcombing. Your dog will love exploring the open space and splashing in the waves. Although the waves can be strong, keep a close eye on dogs when playing in the water.
The dunes behind the beach are great for a bit of adventure, your dog will love the new scents and the chance to explore off the beaten path.
Although Dobby’s Shell Cottage was taken down after filming, you can still walk through the dunes, imagining you were there with Harry, Hermione and Ron.
Access and Facilities
Freshwater West Beach is accessible by car. Parking is available near the beach, and you may be lucky to get an ice cream/food van.
