About
Redmires Reservoir offers accessible, scenic dog walks on open moorland just outside Sheffield, with a mix of reservoirs and woods. The three reservoirs form the core loop, with wide paths, and the open moorland gives dogs space to stretch their legs, while the south-side paths stay firm even after rain. You can add the adjacent Wyming Brook Nature Reserve for woodland exploration.
Things To See & Do
This is a great dog-walking location. Although you can wander as you see fit, there is a loop. Start at the car park bend by the upper reservoir and head south along the reservoir edge on flagged paths with moor views. Loop anti-clockwise past the dam, through woodland fringes, then return via tracks. This is a total of 2.5 miles with minimal climbing.
For a longer walk, you can extend north through the Wyming Brook Nature Reserve and on to Rivelin Reservoirs (5 miles total).
Access and Facilities
There is a public car park at the north-western edge of the upper reservoir (see our map pinpoint) where the road bends. There is also some roadside parking in the area, but please park carefully and consider other road users.
There is also an option to park in the Wyming Brook Nature Reserve car park.
In all cases, you have no facilities, so be prepared and bring drinks, snacks and bags.
