About
Whiteford Sands Beach is a large sandy beach backed by Whiteford Burrows, a National Trust-managed dune system that includes a dune and pine plantation and is classified as a national nature reserve. This is an important feeding ground for wading birds and wildfowl.
Currents can be strong along this beach, as it sits on the edge of the Loughor estuary, so take care.
At high tide, Prissens, Hill, and Cwm Ivy Tors separate Whiteford Sands from the year-round dog-friendly Broughton Bay Beach to the south. But at low tide, you can walk, although it is a longer way back on coastal paths if you get caught out by the incoming tide.

Whiteford Sands is a year-round dog-friendly beach, although leads may be required in the dunes because of the birds.

Access and Facilities
There are no facilities or a beach car park at Whiteford Sands; the closest parking is just outside Llanmadoc, and from there you will have to walk along a hard path and then rough footpath.
