About
Eyemouth Beach is located in the historic fishing town of Eyemouth, just 5 miles north of the English border. Known for its picturesque harbour and rich maritime history, Eyemouth has been a hub of fishing activity for centuries. The town’s close relationship with the sea is reflected in the charming coastal architecture and maritime landmarks. A visit to Eyemouth not only offers a great beach experience but also a glimpse into Scotland’s coastal heritage.
Dog Access and Rules
Eyemouth Beach is dog-friendly all year round, which means no seasonal restrictions!
Things To See & Do
The beach is in a north-facing bay, with a harbour at the east end and cliffs at the west. It is a wide sandy beach with rock pools at low tide, making it perfect for dog walking.
Just a short stroll from the beach, the Eyemouth Harbour and town offer a scenic walk. You may get to spot some seals in and around the harbour.
For more adventurous people who don’t want to spend all their time on the beach, the Berwickshire Coastal Path provides breathtaking cliff-top views and further walking opportunities, especially when heading up towards St Abbs.
Access and Facilities
Eyemouth Beach is easily accessible by car. The town is located on the A1107, just off the A1. If you’re coming by public transport, regular buses run from nearby towns like Berwick-upon-Tweed. Once in Eyemouth, the beach is a short walk from the town centre, with plenty of signage to guide you.
Parking is available close to the beach, public toilets, and local shops, and Eyemouth has a variety of dog-friendly places to eat.
