Things To See & Do
The beach combines sand and pebbles, providing different textures and experiences for your dog to explore. Whether they like to dig in the sand or roam along a pebbly surface, there’s something for every type of beach-loving dog.
The waters at Elmer Sands are generally calm and shallow, especially at low tide, creating safe conditions for dogs who enjoy paddling or swimming. Always watch your dog near the water, as conditions can change.
The beach offers beautiful coastal walks where you and your dog can enjoy the fresh sea air and scenic views. Our personal favourite walk is a morning one from Elmer, heading west towards Bognor along the beach and stopping off at the Lobster Pot in Felpham for a great brunch. If the tide is in, you have a top path you can follow, although the dog has less space to run around.
Access and Facilities
The problem with the beach at Elmer Sands is that a private estate backs it, so access is on foot with no easy options for parking. You should plan to bring water for both yourself and your dog, along with any snacks or other necessities. Although, you do have a dog-friendly pub and shop on the road behind the beach.
There are a few benches along the beach where you can rest and enjoy the view.

A great beach but near impossible to visit unless you are a local or staying in self catering within walking distance. We were lucky as we stayed locally on the private estate and so could pop back to the house whenever we wanted. Would recommend what we did and look for accommodation and then making this your local beach. Some great walks along the beach at low tide.
