About
Southwick Beach sits quietly between Shoreham-by-Sea and Portslade, looking out over the English Channel. This is a working stretch of coast with shingle underfoot, not flashy or polished, and that’s part of the charm.
Dog Access and Rules
Southwick Beach is dog-friendly all year round.
Things To See & Do
You can take a beach stroll towards Shoreham Harbour, west along the beach with the harbour structures slowly coming into view. Southwick Beach is mainly shingle, with patches of sand revealed at low tide. It’s flat but uneven, which can feel harder than it looks. I’d rate it as easy to moderate, depending on distance and conditions.
If you want to stretch things out, you can head east toward Portslade or even Brighton. It’s not wild walking, but it’s accessible and easy to tailor to how you and your dog are feeling.
Access and Facilities
Parking is available at a pay and display car park on the front along with public toilets and a cafe.
